Arcade, together with the NVBK (Dutch Association of Construction Cost Professionals), organised a webinar on 24 June 2021 on the topic of “Tender Law and Construction Costs”. Mr Joost Haest from Severijn Hulshof advocaten explained the topic to us with several practical examples.
Topics covered included: price dumping in the case of unusually low tenders, too low estimates by the contracting authority, maximum amounts used, pre-formulated prices and the obligatory justification of unit prices. Call structure with wood
Arcade Bouw Consult is a member of the NVBK and organises regular meetings with the NVBK. For example, on 4 November 2021, Arcade will give a lecture on ‘Building with wood’ as part of the Construction Cost Expert Day. For example, timber construction has many great advantages, but in the Netherlands, a traditional brick country, little knowledge and/or experience has been gained so far. In order to convince a builder to use timber construction, extra efforts have to be made. It requires a change of thinking on the part of the building cost consultant. Convincing the client to choose timber construction is therefore considered the biggest obstacle to timber construction.
