Environment Act and WKB final. The first chamber voted Tuesday, March 14, to approve the entry into force of the Environment Act and WKB on Jan. 1, 2024.
Each time the question was asked: is it feasible for this and that date? Each time, the ICT Assessment Advisory Board saw various limitations to the introduction of the Digital Environment Act (DSO). In fact, there appeared to be many risks associated with implementing the system. It was repeatedly promised that a final decision would be taken in the short term, but unfortunately this proved not to be the case. Minister Hugo de Jonge indicated several times that more time was needed to test out the digital system.
On Tuesday, March 14, the time finally came. The first chamber approved the entry into force of the Environment Act on January 1, 2024. The Environment Act is to become a bundling of several laws and regulations into one law, the Environment Act. This will allow businesses as well as consumers to easily and quickly apply for permits or start projects through a digital counter.
